Tim joined RSMR in 2023, following a decade long break from the world of investment, running a family craft beer bar business. His time in investments was mainly spent working as a discretionary fund manager employed initially at Henry Cooke Lumsden (now Brown Shipley) as a graduate trainee, followed by stints at UBS Wealth Management and Tilney as Investment Director where he launched a discretionary investment process.
His route into investment management was not a traditional one, having graduated in Marine Biology and Applied Zoology, he argues that a grounding in natural sciences provides an ideal basis for investment, in that you consider the information available, develop your thesis, design your method of study or investment, monitor results, reconsider your thesis, adapt your methodology and repeat.
Outside of work Tim volunteers as a cub leader, enjoys cooking and DIY and planning his next long-distance walk.
