The RSMR Fund Update - January 2026

RSMR fund ratings are more than just a badge of quality — they represent trust, due diligence, and a reputation built on rigorous research and expert analysis. Every month we study the universe of funds in the investment marketplace to assess whether they meet our exacting standards and should be given the RSMR seal of approval.

Here are the new rated funds from our December review:

Guinness Asian Equity Income (Offshore)

The Guinness Asian Equity Income fund focuses on companies with persistent high returns on capital and strong balance sheets that have delivered sustainable real dividend growth.  There is a focus on quality and value, with a bottom-up stock selection approach which integrates ESG factors. The portfolio is concentrated at 36 stocks and is roughly equally weighted, making it quite different from the index. The fund is low turnover with long-term holding periods and seeks to provide a dividend yield higher than the regional market average.

The fund is based on long-term quality investing with a strong valuation overlay and can be used as a core holding for conservative investors in the Asia region due to its quality bias. The fund is also suitable as a satellite holding to complement both high growth orientated or deep value strategies.

While this fund is run by a relatively small team, the long-term investment process and low turnover mean the stocks held have been covered for many years. The lead manager is highly experienced, and the strong long-term record and experience of the team make the fund worthy of a rating in the sector.
