The RSMR monthly fund update- the new recruits from our August review

Here are the new recruits from our August review:

Montanaro UK Income Fund

This fund is a relatively unique offering, drawing on the expertise of one of the largest and most stable smaller companies’ team in the UK with all of the individual company research conducted in-house. It is a conservatively managed UK income fund which, in the longer term, should continue to provide investors with attractive returns.

MI Chelverton UK Growth Fund

This fund offers investors a strong growth mandate from a manager with a proven track record of good stock picking. James Baker has specialised in this area of the market for over 30 years and has built a strong knowledge of the companies operating within this space. The fund is an excellent satellite option for a UK equity investor seeking exposure outside of the FTSE 100.

LeggMason Martin Currie Asia Long-Term Unconstrained Fund

This is the flagship Asian product at Martin Currie and looks to deliver returns in line with nominal GDP in the region. Its unconstrained style means it does not have to have exposure to any country, sector or stock unless the managers see the potential for upside. The fund should perform well versus other Asian funds except in extremely strong equity markets and particularly if Asian markets are showing weakness or are moving sideways.
