Vanguard Global Balanced fundVanguard Global Balanced is a core blended fund holding. The stock/bond mix is designed to provide investors with an all-weather portfolio providing competitive returns across the market cycle. The fund has three goals: capital preservation - it will always have 30% to 40% invested in fixed income, reasonable current income - investing primarily in dividend paying stocks and holding intermediate dated maturity and a balanced risk/reward profile - taking no undue risk. The fund is managed by Wellington Management on behalf of Vanguard. Wellington is a private partnership with over US$1 trillion of assets under management, 14 offices worldwide and over 2,200 clients. It is wholly focused on investment management. The fund is very transparent with a well defined approach to asset allocation. In equities, bottom-up stock selection is the key driver, using Wellington’s proprietary fundamental research process. The fixed income mandate is an investment grade mandate combining bottom-up and top down research. The product is highly cost-effective (with a TER of 0.48%) means of investing in a high quality portfolio of equities and bonds. The fund has a credible long-term track record and Wellington Management is a global player with a very strong investment team. |
