Invesco: How does the UK equity market look to a value investor?

As a valuation-orientated investor, Martin Walker's investment style brings valuation at the point of purchase to the foreground, as he seeks to find compelling opportunities in areas of the market that other investors would shun.

In this video, Martin will address the current undervaluation of the UK equitiy market and give his expectations for the near future, including:

  • Why the mining sector is no longer an overweight in the Invesco Perpetual UK Growth Fund
  • Insight into the ongoing Sainsbury's and Asda merger
  • What has caused him to ramp-up exposure to the pharmaceuticals sector?
  • How his style of investing differentiates his portfolios to those of his UK equity colleagues

Investment risks

The value of investments and any income will fluctuate (this may partly be the result of exchange rate fluctuations) and investors may not get back the full amount invested.

The Invesco Perpetual UK Growth Fund may use derivatives (complex instruments) in an attempt to reduce the overall risk of its investments, reduce the costs of investing and/or generate additional capital or income, although this may not be achieved. The use of such complex instruments may result in greater fluctuations of the value of the fund. The Manager, however, will ensure that the use of derivatives within the fund does not materially alter the overall risk profile of the fund.
